Consumer engagement

ADEA is committed to applying evidence-informed consumer engagement across its governance and operations.

This commitment extends to the ADEA Diabetes Research Foundation.

In the period 2016-17, as the Foundation’s policies and protocols are established, and as ADEA develops its new (2017-20) Strategic Plan, a Consumer Engagement Strategy will be progressively co-designed and implemented:

  • Across all phases of the research process: setting priorities, project co-design, applying assessment criteria, project governance, analysis and reporting and translation1
  • Aiming to maximise the level of participation, progressing from information and consultation to involvement, collaboration and empowerment2
  • Progressing the sustainability of this engagement through the organisation via governance; leadership and culture; infrastructure and capacity building3
