The ADEA Diabetes Research Foundation has approved a $60,000 Research Fellowship to Ms Giuliana Murfet who will develop a diabetes care capability framework for health professionals with different levels of skills and knowledge.

The framework provides a set of nine broad capability areas that address, among others, diabetes self-management education, technology and the quality use of medicines. The framework will aim to provide a national minimum level of competencies for different health professional levels for course developers to include within their program development.
